(KS) Belleville Telescope Nov. 25, 2004 Lloyd Axel Clifford Carlson, son of Axel J. and Rena Tiller Carlson, was born May 21, 1915 at rural Clyde and died November 17, 2004 at the Brookside Care Center, Madill, Okla. He received his education in the public schools of Fairview Township, Norway and Concordia. Following his schooling, he picked corn in Iowa, and worked as a hired man in the Norway, Kackley, and Jamestown area. On June 17, 1945 he was united in marriage to Myra Sherwood at rural Talmo, and to this union two children were born. Carlson was a farmer and stockman his entire life. He was a bus driver and custodian at Cloud County Community College. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Talmo and was chairman of the board. He was active in barbershop chorus, and served as a 4-H leader. He received the ASCS Conservation Award. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Arthur and Norman Carlson; and sister, Louise Carlson. Survivors include son, Dr. Kenneth Carlson; daughter, Karen Nusser; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother Iver M. Carlson of Hebron, Nebr. Services were held November 23 at the Talmo Community Center, conducted by the Rev. John King. Interment was in Zion Cemetery, rural Talmo. Obituary courtesy of jln.
